Thanks for a Terrific Season
Hi Team

We tried hard to come back from an early deficit but couldn't find the back of their net in time. The 4-3 loss did not represent how hard we tried nor how hard we kept in the game. The same can be said for our combined effort all season.

When we started the team way back last September, all the coaches were very proud of the talent we selected regardless how much previous experience you had. Our first practice was a little shaky. It was expected considering many hadn't been on skates for a few months. Some were asked to move into a position they weren't used to but we all quickly gelled into a strong, united team. Our defense was a solid wall on the blue line. Shooting off stray shots and firing up to the forwards. Our wingers remembered our breakout drills from practice and were quick to intercept the shot down the boards and up the sides.

Our center men played strong feeding the man in front, dragging the play with them or digging the puck out of the corners. And our goalie was quick, nimble and swift stopping what he could. We may not have won the day of champs, but it wasn't not for lack of trying. Without a doubt, we exemplified what this game means and what it provides. A tonne of fun, an excellent way to maintain fitness and friendships that will stay with you forever.

Hockey is a team sport beyond the ice surface too. There were many others who contributed to your weekend afternoons and evenings too. The convener and executive committee who organize the games, the rink staff and managers who maintain the arenas, the coaches and assistants who helped motivate and encourage you and most importantly, please remember to thank your parents. They only want to see you happy playing a game that's fun.

Thank you very much for a fantastic season. It was a lot of fun for me, Coach Ryan, Joe, Mars, Eric and Daryl. I hope we see everyone again next year.
