Hello Family & Fans
We've just completed our Ottawa tournament experience, right on top
of the aftermath of a dark day in Canadian history. We are very proud
of the team for their participation at the Monument in Ottawa. By now,
I'm sure you've seen pictures of the TEAM at the Monument and again on
the approach to the Parliament buildings. It was a privilege to be
associated with the TEAM to honour and support our Armed Forces.
Three losses. Two of the games we were 'in' until the third period where we tripped ourselves up. Brandon & I are going to have to work extra hard at keeping the players focussed in the 3rd period.
Hi-Points -
- witnessed two GREAT mini-stick hockey games !!
- kept up to teams playing in a higher loop than we're accustomed to!!
- Cameron, our Team Captain, gave the TEAM an unsolicited spirited post-game speech!
- celebrated Aidan's Birthday. Just disappointed no one 'caked' him!! (maybe that one would have ended in an EPIC food fight!!!)
Another chapter in the growth of our becoming a TEAM. We're not there yet; still got a couple of wrinkles to iron out, but a solid step forward.
GO MARLIES!
Garry Dawe
