A little bit about our Bob Giroux Tournament
The Bob Giroux Memorial Tournament is held on the first weekend of December each year. The tournament is for Select Teams in the 6 and 7 year old age divisions and for many players this will be the first tournament that they will participate in.

Robert Giroux, better known as Coach Bob, was a man that dedicated his life to hockey.  Bob was involved with Coaching Hockey in the Chinguacousy and Brampton Minor/Youth associations for approximately 30 years.  During and after his Police Career with Toronto Police, Bob spent countless hours volunteering at the hockey rinks.  He was always the first to be at the rink and always was the last person to leave the rink.

Bob had many roles during his involvement with minor hockey.  Bob was a Coach, a Mentor, an Executive and Committee member and the co-coordinator of the Brampton Hockey Inc's Hockey School and Mini Troopers.  Bob's main goals in his many roles was to ensure that every player left the rink with a smile on their face and to ensure that every player had the best hockey experience that he could offer.  The current Select 6 and Select 7 programs that operate in the Brampton Hockey were created by Bob.

Bob was and is Brampton Minor Hockey.  Brampton Hockey is pleased to continue to honour Bob's memory by hosting the Bob Giroux Memorial Tournament.

Teams from Central Ontario have enjoyed this tournament that focuses on giving these young players possibly their first tournament experience.

Thanks for everything Coach Bob!  We miss you!
