The score didn't reflect how hard we played
Hi Team
We fell behind early and fought to get within a goal behind but couldn't seal the deal and lost 5-3. The score dosen't reflect how hard we played. We were down 1-0 but got it tied on a terrific goal from #10 but unfortunely they replied with 3 to put them ahead 4-1. We responded with two quick goals (50 seconds apart) from #9 to make it exciting. We a 5-3 poweplay and 30 seconds left, we couldn't find the back of their net and ran out of time.
Both defense and a forwards communicated great. Our forwards fore-checked like professionals and our wingers covered the boards, passing and skating hard out of the zone. Our defense shut down the lane directing the puck into the corner and our goalie was swift sliding post to post to block the shots. But we let a few get by and they were quick to capitilize to score. We bunched up too many times fighting ourselves for the loose puck and can always do better with our back-checking. As good as our defense is, we can't leave them unattended when the other team is charging. We have one game left in the regular season against the Penguins. Lets charge into the playoffs with a victory and shift the momentum to our favour.
