Hi Team
That was a great game. We controlled the first period jumping out quickly to take a 1-0 lead from a sniper shot off Sacha's stick into the net over the goalies glove hand. The second period, not so good. It got away from us and we fell behind 3-1. But after Torben out skated the defender and dragged the goalie out of his crease to pot an wrist shot goal, the momentum turned to our favour.
Riley stood his ground in front of their net and deflected a goal early in the third period to tie the game at 3 apiece. We tightened our game, made short quick passes and fed Ryan the puck who raced down the wing through their defense and snapped a shot at an impossible angle. But it found the back of the net for the go ahead goal where it ended as a 4-3 final score for us.
We all played together as one team with a single purpose. Even though we were down 3-1 mid way through the second, we didn't let it slow us down. If there was one thing to improve on, don't bunch up together on the ice. See an open area where you can skate so when you get the puck, you have a clear alley way to go through, look for our next open guy to fire him the pass or shot on net.
All the other teams are bringing their "A" game. But on Sunday, we played really tough, really smart and really strong. Three excellent qualities that will lead straight to the day of champs. Let's stay on point and work together for another "W" this Sunday against the Penguins.
