March Break Development Camp for 4-8 year Olds

Brampton Hockey hosting a Development Camp for 4-8 Year Old's - March 18th to 20th for Brampton Hockey participants

Take this opportunity for your child to develop further skills with Brampton Hockey during their March Break.

The program will be led by Justin Ambrose and the camp will maintain a 5 to 1 Instructor to Student Ratio with one lead teacher supervising drills.

**PLEASE NOTE PAYMENT FOR CAMP MUST BE PAID THROUGH THIS ONLINE REGISTRATION AND WILL NOT ACCEPT CASH AT THE OFFICE OR AT THE ARENA**

For: Only Brampton Hockey Registered Participants during the 2019-20 season
Dates:
Wednesday, March 18th to Friday March 20th.

Location: Jim Archdekin Arena

Time: AM Session - 9:00 to 12:00

          *PM Session - 1:00 to 4:00
*Please note PM session is based on interest. The primary session being run is 9 am to 12 pm and those who register for the 1 pm to 4 pm may be asked to move to the earlier session depending on final registration numbers.

Ages:
4-8.

Cost: 

  • $180 - Standard One Session Fee
  • $300 - Double Session (AM & PM)
  • $150 - Early Bird - Register by Monday, February 17th.
  • $120 - Second Sibling (Discount of $60 - It's just the early bird price for both siblings)
  • Goalies - Free - Maximum of 4

Format: Each day will consist of 1 hour of power skating, 1 hour of skills and 1 hour of games.  Here are some focus points:

  • 1 hour of Power Skating forward skating, backward skating, posture (knee bend, chest and head position), stride mechanics (use of full body), forward crossovers, strong edge control, backward crossovers (advanced kids), explosive starts (V & T), backward crossover start (for advanced kids), lateral mobility & agility, skating with pucks.
  • 1 Hour of Skills
  • Puck Handling
    • Balance, stance, and agility on feet
    • Shifting of weight on feet to enhance dekes and fakes = Edge Transition
    • wrist agility and hand speed
  • Passing
    • Balance, stance, and agility on feet
    • Shifting of weight on feet to push puck completely through pass - power via legs = Edge transition
    • Body positioning and target orientation
  • Shooting
    • Balance, stance, and agility on feet
    • Shifting of weight on feet to push puck completely through shot – power via legs = Edge transition
    • Driving of front foot to net off shot – complimentary direction of motion (bottom and top) = Gliding front foot
  • 1 Hour of Games (Games will be regular half or cross ice games as well as a variety of invasion territory style games to help build on skills learned during the week).
