Tryout Information and Registration
Submitted By Andrea Thomson on Wednesday, August 18, 2021
***Tryout Registration has reopened*** (Sept 3/21)

Tryout schedules are now posted on team webpages.  Please note they are subject to change, so check back before your child's tryout.

Brampton Hockey is excited to get back on the ice with our players.  Below is information available to us at this time as we move forward to the September tryouts.

We are still waiting to finalize tryouts schedules and ice availability and that information will be forthcoming over the course of the next week or so.

We are requesting that players and their families interested in trying out for a Representative team for the 2021-22 season read the following document closely and if you are unsure of something please reach out for clarification.

Many of the items below are historically similar but we have encountered a few Covid required changes. We are doing the best we can to ensure everyone’s safe return from the Covid Pandemic that has more or less shut us down during the last year and a half.

Players will be expected to pre-register and purchase a passport online through the Brampton Hockey website in advance of attending any tryouts with Brampton Hockey Inc. Registration for tryouts will close on August 31, 2021

Tryout Passports will be $120.00, which will include your tryout jersey. These jerseys will be kept by the players and have been planned by colours to be utilized as practice jerseys throughout the season for those players successful in being selected on a team in the rep program.  Therefore, there will not be a requirement to purchase additional practice jerseysThere will be a one-time skate passport of $50.00 which will not include a jersey for those that are attending just one skate.

To ensure the numbers of players on the ice meets regulations, players are only permitted to try out for one level above what they played in their last regular season (2019-2020), unless they have been extended an invite by the coach. We will be limiting players allowed on the ice at one specific time to a maximum of 40.

We are asking that players come dressed or partially dressed to the facilities as there will be time restraints on when you will be able to enter the facilities for your scheduled ice time as well as when you must exit the premises afterward. Dressing room protocols are currently unknown at this time.

We will be asking that everyone do their part and social distance, respect people’s personal space, and be patient while we all work through this time. We certainly don’t want to get shut down before we even get started, so let’s follow along the guidelines that are in place.

There will be no gathering in the lobbies of the buildings or in any facility, and if you are interested in chatting with friends, we are asking you do so outside the facility.   Please avoid gathering in areas where we are trying to get flow of players and families in and out of the facility.  Each Brampton facility will operate slightly different and have different capacities for parents, at this time we can not guarantee any numbers for attendance in the rink outside of the 40 players on the ice and coaches.  Again, please respect the rules and all the staff at the arenas, it is a new frontier for everyone.

All these steps are in hopes of preventing any type of transmission and for the safety of all. As you all are aware these steps could be changed at any given moment and we will have to adjust as we move forward.

Remember Covid has changed the world over the last year and a half, and the way we do things will be changing as we all move forward.

Stay safe and we look forward to what the new normal hockey season will look like for 2021-22.
