OHF Announces Player Movement Updates
Big changes coming to Ontario Hockey Player Movement regulations for the upcoming season and Brampton Hockey aims to set new standards of excellence on and off the ice.

Brampton Hockey is committed to supporting players and families through every stage of their hockey journey.

The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) has announced significant updates to its Player Movement Regulations, effective for the 2025–2026 season.

Key Changes:
• Enhanced Player Movement: Players in the U10 age group and above can choose to participate with any Association, regardless of Category.
• House League for U9 and Below: House League players aged U9 and below can continue to play anywhere within the OHF.
• Local Programming for Younger Participants: U9 and below players will participate within their Member organizations under Member Regulations for Select and Minor Development hockey.
• Pause on Addition of Representative Teams: A temporary hold is in place on adding new Representative teams for U10 and above to allow for a review of team numbers at each age group and Category.
• Development of Geographically Structured Leagues: The OHF will work to establish leagues structured by geography to reduce travel and promote inclusivity.
• Increased Penalties for Tampering: Stricter penalties will be introduced for in-season recruitment of players for the next season.

These changes aim to create a more inclusive and player-focused system, ensuring every participant has fun and the opportunity to thrive. These changes aim to provide improved guidelines for player transfers, support player development, and ensuring the sport remains fun, inclusive, and accessible for everyone involved.
