Recreational House League (Brampton Hockey Inc.)

PrintRecreational House League

Brampton Hockey’s Recreational League season runs from September to March, and is open to players of all skill levels and offers various programming options.

CORE PROGRAM: U8 – U21

2 hours per week | 48 total hours of programming

  •           open to players age 8 – 20 years old*
  •           one one-hour practice and one game each week (typically held on the weekend)**
  •          five development sessions with a certified development instructor**
  •          participation in the Neville Woolridge tournament (Family Day weekend)
  •          the opportunity to advance to the Weekend of Champions (end of season weekend)

While teams are created ahead of the season start, in the first few weeks coaches will assess player abilities through development sessions and practices. Teams are then adjusted prior to game play, to ensure they are equally balanced based on skill.

U9 teams (7 to 8 year old players) play half-ice hockey for the first three months of the season, and transition to full-ice shortly after the new year.

*For entry-level programming as young as age 4, please refer to Timbits Learn to Play and / or NHL/NHLPA First Shift

**U21 teams do not include practices or development, but include the equivalent ice allocation as other age divisions equating to approximately 27 games in the season.

Brampton Hockey does not accept requests for friends to play together.  Our focus is team balancing to try to ensure that every player has a fair and equitable season.
