Brampton Hockey’s Recreational League (also called House League) season runs from mid-October to mid-March, provides players of all skill levels the opportunity to play hockey at a recreational level.
In the first few weeks of the season we assess player abilities. Then we place players on teams, and they play a regular season schedule. Teams practice every week. U9 (Novice) play half-ice until after Christmas break and transition to full-ice. Rec teams also participate in our annual Neville Woolridge during the Christmas break.
For players who want more hockey, Brampton Hockey also offers Select teams in conjunction with our Rec League program at ages where there is sufficient interest. In addition to a player’s house league team, they will also have an additional practice with their select team most weeks and play 2-3 extra games a month. The Select team can also participate in up to three tournaments during the season. Select tryouts take place in the fall after the House League teams have been finalized.
Brampton Hockey also provides additional Skills Development for younger players, while older ages receive extra games instead of practices. Brampton also provides goalie training for those interested in that position.
