A tough defensive game earns us a tie
Hi Team
Tonight's game was a battle between defense men on both teams. We out shot them at least 25 -3 but still couldn't get it past their goalie who stopped every shot. Sean may have only made three saves but they were huge considering they were from break-aways. Ending the game 0-0 doesn't reflect how hard we tried to win. It shows how we kept trying right to the last second.
Our forwards tried. They tried very hard. They passed well and went after the loose puck like wolverines. But if we let their goalie have a clear view at the shot and the play in front of the net, they will stop it every time. Sometimes tonight, we shot from too far out. A shot on net from the point is great way to try to get a goal but without someone standing near the post to pick up the rebound, the goalie can see the whole play and put a stop to anything from happening.
We played very well and didn't give up the puck like before. We chased down the puck and commanded the neutral zone. But to advance to the final four, one thing we need to do is be in front of their net more and stealing those juicy rebounds. But don't forget, if we don't score, we need to back check hard to get the puck back. All the teams we will face want to win just as bad as us. We need to want it more.
